Bioenergetic Meridian Therapy is a completely different approach to traditional massage, combining hands-on bodywork with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and gentle microcurrent technology.
Using specialist conductive gloves, a controlled microcurrent travels through my hands as I work across the muscles, lymphatic system and meridian pathways.
This isn’t really a relaxing, spa-style massage. It’s a much more targeted treatment, designed to work with areas of pain, tension and restriction, while also encouraging circulation, lymphatic flow and movement through the body.
WHAT ARE MERIDIANS?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, meridians are pathways through which Qi, or vital energy, is believed to travel around the body.
Each pathway is traditionally associated with different areas, organs and functions within the body. Meridian therapy works along these pathways with the aim of encouraging better flow and bringing the body back towards balance.
HOW DO THE BIOENERGETIC GLOVES WORK?
Rather than using a machine directly on you, I wear specialist conductive gloves which allow a gentle microcurrent to travel through my hands.
This means I can still feel exactly where I’m working, massage the tissues and follow the meridian and lymphatic pathways at the same time.
You may feel tingling, tapping, pulsing or a stronger contracting sensation depending on the area being treated.
You are completely in control of the intensity throughout your treatment. You’ll have your own controller, allowing you to increase or decrease the strength of the microcurrent to whatever feels comfortable for you.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This isn’t a traditional relaxing massage. It’s a more targeted treatment for anyone wanting to work on areas of pain, tension, restriction and stagnation in the body. The treatment also works with the lymphatic system, helping to encourage lymphatic flow and drainage, so it can be a lovely option if you’re feeling puffy, heavy or sluggish.

Bioenergetic Meridian Therapy uses electrical microcurrent and isn’t suitable for everyone. Please let us know before booking if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electrical device, are pregnant, have epilepsy, or have been advised to avoid electrical stimulation.
