Becky first opened the doors to Bare Essentials in 2011, nestled on her family’s farm. What began as a small beauty studio soon blossomed into a thriving salon offering a wide range of non-surgical treatments. As her reputation grew, so did her team—many of whom are still part of the journey today.

In 2020, Becky welcomed Ailsa to the team and expanded into Wantage, opening a second clinic in the Arbery Arcade. Their shared vision and natural synergy led to the creation of a larger, purpose-designed space in Wantage, bringing both locations under one roof and creating space for the business to flourish.
Alongside this, Becky launched Luminate Barn next door to the original salon on the farm, offering a peaceful escape focused on holistic and wellness treatments—her true passion.
After more than two and a half successful years in Wantage, the journey has now branched into two exciting new paths. Ailsa has rebranded Bare Essentials as AJ Aesthetics, while Becky has shifted her focus to growing Luminate in Hagbourne. Becky continues to work one day a week at AJ Aesthetics on a self-employed basis, maintaining the strong partnership and values that have always defined their work.
To make this transition as smooth as possible, Becky has decided to keep the Bare Essentials website live so clients can still easily find their preferred therapists. She recognises that this change may feel a little confusing and wants to ensure a seamless experience for everyone.
Nothing will be changing at the Wantage clinic—clients can continue to enjoy the same high-quality treatments and familiar faces. Meanwhile, Martina, who specialises in injectables, and Jen, known for her expertise in microblading, will continue to work from Luminate on the farm, just as they have for over a decade. Please book through the Luminate site to arrange an appointment with them.
